Biography:
In The Back Of The Real are a self-sufficient, self-taught 4 piece Shoegaze/Post-Rock/Indie band from Derby. They started out life in January 2006 but have been adjusting their line-up until September 2008. Each member that has passed through the ranks has added something special to the sound of ITBOTR, which is constantly evolving today. They have been playing live to audiences around the Midlands for over 2 years and have had the pleasure of supporting: Look See Proof!, My Psychonanlyst,You Slut!, You Judas and plenty more…
The name ‘In The Back Of The Real’ is taken and adapted from the poem ‘In Back Of The Real’ by the ‘beatnik’ poet Allen Ginsberg. Ginsberg depicts a yellow flower (a symbol of the natural world) that has been tainted and forgotten about in amongst the progression of the industrial world. Influenced by this poem and the intricate soundscapings of bands such as: Mogwai, My Bloody Valentine, Mono, Explosions in the Sky and Sigur Ros, ITBOTR look towards the cinematic aspect of music, in
